Getting to Know Campus Life: SMAN 2 West Sumatra Enthusiastically Visits FPIK Undip

Semarang – A total of 77 students and 5 accompanying teachers from SMAN 2 West Sumatra conducted an educational visit to the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK), Diponegoro University (Undip), on Thursday, October 9, 2025. The event took place at the FPIK Auditorium, Tembalang, Semarang, and was warmly welcomed by the FPIK Undip promotion team. The visit aimed to introduce students more closely to university life and the various study programs offered at Undip as they prepare for higher education.

The event began with welcoming remarks from Dr. Putut Har Riyadi, S.Pi., M.Si., Vice Dean for Resources at FPIK Undip, who expressed appreciation for the visit and introduced FPIK as one of Undip’s leading faculties in the fields of fisheries and marine science. The remarks were followed by a representative from SMAN 2 West Sumatra, who conveyed hopes that the visit would broaden the students’ perspectives on study and career opportunities in the marine sector. The program continued with a presentation by FPIK Undip students, who shared detailed information about the study programs, academic activities, and future career prospects in the field. Following the presentation, the students actively participated in an engaging Q&A session, showing great enthusiasm for learning more about fisheries and marine sciences.

The visit concluded with a tour of several laboratories within FPIK Undip, where the students had the opportunity to directly observe research and practical facilities used by Undip students. This activity is expected to serve as an inspiration for the students as they plan and decide on their future fields of study in higher education.
